Smeaton's lighthouse was the third lighthouse to be built on the Eddystone Rocks just off the coast of Devon and Cornwall. It's design was based on an oak tree and it marked several advancements in lighthouse construction technology. In service from 1759 to 1877 it was eventually dismantled and rebuilt on Plymouth Ho as a memorial to Smeaton. The foundation or stub on which it once stood can still be seen today, next to the current Eddystone Lighthouse.

Every one of our images is available to buy as either a print (framed or unframed) or a stretched canvas.

Stretched canvases are very popular amongst our clients. Offering the ultimate in luxury, they are a superb way to showcase your chosen picture. Each one is manufactured by hand using traditional techniques: a carefully prepared photographic print is bonded onto an artist’s canvas before being sealed with a protective laminate coating, hand-stretched over a wooden frame and secured firmly in place. The finished product does not need a frame and will look stunning when mounted on the wall in your home.
