The Foel Tower at the submerged dam in the Garreg-Ddu reservoir in the Elan Vallery, Mid-Wales. The area is known for its outstanding natural beauty and this contrasts well with the ingenuity of the Vistorian engineers responsible for its construction.
The tower itself is the take-off point for the reservoir's water and marks the start of the journey to feed the City of Birmingham with water. It was built to overcome a slight problem - the main dam was not high enough for the water to travel the distance to Birmingham by gravity alone. Moving the takeoff point higher up the valley proved the solution.
The bridge to the right of the image stands atop the submerged dam which is only visible during times of drought whe the water levels are very low.
Every one of our images is available to buy as either a print (framed or unframed) or a stretched canvas.
Unframed prints are just that - high quality prints on archival paper but supplied unframed and unmounted. This brings you the advantage and flexibility of being able to enjoy our range of stunning images in a frame of your choosing.
The QTImages range of designer frames are made to order are available in five colours: Black, Bronze, Gold, Pewter and Silver. Every framed image is supplied with a matching mount and is hand finished, ready for you to hang on the wall of your home or office.
Stretched canvases are very popular amongst our clients. Offering the ultimate in luxury, they are a superb way to showcase your chosen picture. Each one is manufactured by hand using traditional techniques: a carefully prepared photographic print is bonded onto an artist’s canvas before being sealed with a protective laminate coating, hand-stretched over a wooden frame and secured firmly in place. The finished product does not need a frame and will look stunning when mounted on the wall in your home.
